Crowley Davis Research, Inc. (Eagle, Idaho; www.cdres.com) has been researching biologically-inspired computing under research contracts with the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel [sic] Command since 2002, resulting in a unique, patent pending tissue simulation technology that grows virtual tissues cell by cell for unprecedented computer modeling accuracy and flexibility. Each model can react to genetic mutations and physical perturbations for investigating questions previously difficult or impossible to do with conventional techniques.

Now validated in collaboration with the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota and against several published journal articles, this technology is being made ready to distribute commercially through Endogenics, Inc. (Eagle, Idaho; www.endogenics.com), a research services firm started by Crowley Davis Research, Inc. Endogenics is currently seeking funding for its launch in 2009. Through the Internet, scientists will be able to create, experiment, and exchange models as part of their ongoing biology and medical research.

Brief movies that show some capabilities of versatile tissue simulation for biomedical research can be found at www.endogenics.com.

Information about applying these simulations in the classroom can also be found at www.endogenics.com/education
