In The Beginning...

The genesis of the ESTech story took place in 2007 in a similar manner to that of the very successful Silicon Valley of northern California: a group of visionaries sipping their early-morning coffee around a table started talking and theorizing—theorizing about opportunities—big opportunities—for the Treasure Valley, the State of Idaho—and the Nation.

This gathering of intellectuals expounded upon the multitude of high-tech companies that are already located in and around Boise and how the area, populated by highly-motivated engineers and entrepreneurs, was an absolute treasure trove of new, important and very useful ideas—ideas that were just waiting to be shared, "cross-pollinated", and set into motion.

The forward-thinking group kept coming back to the notion that implementing a communication network among these engineer-entrepreneur types was a sure-fire way to cultivate constant innovation. To perpetuate this concept, the idea of developing a high-tech corridor where these highly-talented, progressive professionals could easily interact with one another, was launched.

And the Creation Grows...

One year hence:

• A company-friendly/family-friendly site located west of Boise between Eagle and Star was selected;
• A Strategic Plan was written;
• A logo was designed;
• The ESTech Web site was developed;
• A Board of Directors was elected;
• Committees have been formed that will guide and administer the effort;
• Educational opportunities are being formulated to coordinate and promote technical symposiums, workshops, seminars and discussions as a channel for the exchange of ideas, as well as the opportunity to "play" with novel technology.

The Eagle-Star Technology (ESTech) Corridor is an evolutionary, "churning" environment—a critical mass of passionate, brave, ambitious people who are attracted to an area west of Boise, Idaho—a beautiful piece of real estate that is already showing dynamic signs of big-time change.
